Shooting in Hungary
Budapest is one of Europe’s most versatile filming destinations — a city that can double for Paris, Berlin, Vienna, Moscow or any imagined metropolis thanks to its unique blend of Art Nouveau, Neo-Classical, Baroque, modernist and brutalist architecture.
The capital offers world-class studios, expansive backlots and cutting-edge facilities that have hosted productions like Dune, Poor Things, Blade Runner 2049, The Witcher, The Martian and Formula 1. Hungary’s crews are known for their professionalism, efficiency and problem-solving mindset, ensuring smooth, predictable shoots of any scale.
With 35 years of production experience, Skyfilm guides international partners through every stage of the process, helping them maximize the creative, logistical and financial advantages of shooting in Hungary. And just beyond the city, filmmakers find a diverse range of locations — castles, forests, rivers, plains and untouched villages — all within short travel distance.

TAX REBATE
Hungary provides a robust 30% production incentive, offering one of the most attractive and reliable tax rebate systems in Europe and drawing major international productions year after year. Projects spending less than 80% locally also qualify, as 25% of non-Hungarian costs can be treated as Hungarian spend, raising the effective benefit to up to 37.5% of local expenses.
Open to all international, Hungarian, and co-productions, the rebate process is transparent, fast, and financially predictable. Skyfilm provides end-to-end production services to ensure partners maximize the incentive and tap into Hungary’s highly skilled crews, modern infrastructure, and cost-efficient production environment.
